Learn to live more independently.
Prospective participants for the First Place Transition Academy sign up for the life skills assessment, which helps identify strengths and service planning needs.
Consult with the First Place team, which will assist you in mapping out a life and work plan. Also, work with the First Place team to build an ecosystem of support – financially, emotionally and for daily living – in preparation for the move to First Place.
Transition Academy participants enroll in the First Place Community Orientation Program, acquainting you with the neighborhood, transportation, recreation, education, and area employment and volunteer opportunities.
