Susan I. Smith

First Place Board Member; Salt River Project Director of IT Workplace Services & Aaron's Mom

Susan leads an IT organization focused on digital transformation in the workplace and supporting a hybrid work environment. The teams include Workspace Technologies, IT End User Computing, IT Service Management and Digital Support and Voice. Susan and her teams focus on providing IT services that keep people productive and connected. She has more than 25 years of experience providing leadership in both the technology and business areas of the utility industry. 

Prior to joining SRP in 1998, Susan held professional, managerial and executive positions with Computer Language Research, Inc., Price Waterhouse Tax Technology Group and Central Maine Power. She has served as both board chair and vice chair for the Arizona Foundation for Women. She is also passionate about the challenges facing women and children in Arizona and around the world. Prior to moving to Arizona, Susan was actively involved with various groups serving people with developmental disabilities and their families. Her passion for helping change lives in Maine led to her gubernatorial appointment as the vice chair of the Maine Developmental Disabilities Council. She also served on committees and boards for the University of Maine Center for Community Inclusion, Autism Society of Maine and others. 

Susan holds a B.S. in Business Administration/Accounting from the University of Maine.
