Adults with autism and/or other intellectual/developmental disabilities (A/I/DD) are in critical need of more affordable housing and community options with cognitive accessibility. To deliver data that can help push for change, we are conducting housing market analyses in a range of markets across the U.S. These comprehensive reports identify housing and support needs/preferences of adults with A/I/DD in each market.
Determine individuals' needs and preferences.
What is standing in the way of meeting demand?
Bring the public, private, nonprofit and philanthropic sectors together to mitigate displacement or homelessness—and create communities where people with A/I/DD can thrive.
In advance of identifying needs and preferences, First Place hosted a virtual gathering to request input from and inform stakeholders with A/I/DD and their family members/guardians of available housing and service delivery options.
This effort also enlisted input from local leaders with a vested interest in meeting the unique needs of special populations.
