Interested in increasing student outcomes? License the Learn4Independence® curriculum designed for adults with autism and other neuro-diversities.
Learn4Independence® is a 32-course, scaffolded curriculum for adults age 18 and older with autism and other neuro-diversities that focuses on skills to promote living independently and working successfully. This unique curriculum’s design elements can accommodate various types of individuals with learning differences and is adaptable to your community and cultural needs. Instructors benefit from less time needed to create content and more time in the classroom teaching dynamic, relevant subject material. Students seeking gainful employment and a more self-sufficient, independent life can thrive with Learn4Independence.
Organizations can license the use of this interactive curriculum to promote independence and increase opportunities for employment. There are 32 courses, each with 17 modules that include an instructor’s manual and syllabus. Each module contains specific learning outcomes, PowerPoint presentations, reading notes for students, and supplemental materials like handouts, worksheets and projects. An implementation manual provides an overview of the Learn4Independence curriculum and summarizes best practices for instruction.
The First Place Transition Academy staff has taught the Learn4Independence curriculum for four years with the potential to deliver content to 32 students annually. Outcomes include 94% employment at graduation and 88% of graduates leaving First Place to live on their own or with a roommate.
The initial Learn4Independence licensing fee is $50,000.
